The Not Too Bad Bluegrass Band in Concert
October 4, 2013 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Traditional Arts Indiana will join the Sullivan County Public Library to bring The Not Too Bad Bluegrass Band to downtown Sullivan for a free concert. Sponsored TAI and funded through a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, the concert will showcase the talents of this popular Indiana Bluegrass Band.
Hailing from Lawrence and Monroe counties, the band’s music tradition is shaped by the legacy of Bill Monroe and the legendary Bean Blossom Bluegrass Festival in Brown County. Sporting a modest name and a phenomenal sound, The Not Too Bad Bluegrass Band has enjoyed nearly three decades of playing and touring around the area. In 2010, they represented Indiana’s vibrant tradition of bluegrass music in the nation’s capital, performing for standing-room-only crowds at the at the Library of Congress and the Kennedy Center as part of the American Folklife Center’s Homegrown Concert Series.
All members of the public are invited to come and hear the lively, nostalgic, and wonderful sounds of Indiana bluegrass!
